1. How do I become a licensed Florida real estate sales associate or broker?

2. What education must I complete prior to becoming a licensed Florida real estate associate or broker?
To become a real estate sales associate, you must successfully complete a 63-hour course approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission. To become a real estate broker, you must successfully complete a 72-hour course approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission.
3. What courses are approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission?

4. If I fail the exam at the end of the course am I allowed to re-take it?
You can re-take the exam at least 30 days after the original exam date and no more than one-year after the initial exam. If you fail the exam twice, you have to take the course again.
5. Does everyone have to complete the educational requirements prior to getting an initial real estate license?
No. Attorneys in good standing with the Florida Bar, people who have earned a four-year college degree in real estate, and applicants who qualify under the Mutual Recognition Agreement do not have to complete the educational requirements for sales associate and broker licenses.
6. What is the Mutual Recognition Agreement?
The Mutual Recognition Agreement allows real estate associates in certain states to achieve Florida licensure through reciprocity.
7. I just received my real estate license. What post licensure education should I complete to ensure my license remains active?
